The Chinese dragon is a mythical creature that represents power, strength, and good fortune. It is often depicted as a long, snake-like creature with five claws, scales, and a flamboyant beard. In Chinese culture, the dragon is revered as a symbol of imperial power and authority.

The Dragon's Gate is a concept in Chinese philosophy that refers to the gateway to enlightenment or spiritual awakening. It is often associated with the idea of transcending the mundane world and achieving a higher level of consciousness.

At Dragon’s Gate, a dedicated Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qi Gong training center in the heart of Canggu, Bali, these two fundamental principles are woven together: personal power and self-awareness. We believe that both are required to thrive in today’s modern world.

THE STORY OF THE DRAGON’S GATE

The story of the Dragon's Gate is a legendary tale from Chinese mythology. It's said that a carp fish can transform itself (just as we can transform ourselves) into a dragon (a powerful being) if it can swim upstream (master itself and life) and leap through the Dragon's Gate, a mystical waterfall.

The carp fish begins its journey in the lower reaches of a river, determined to swim upstream and reach the Dragon's Gate. Along the way, the carp faces numerous challenges and obstacles, including strong currents, waterfalls, and predators. If the carp successfully navigates these challenges, it reaches the Dragon's Gate, a powerful waterfall that blocks its path. If however, it can summon the strength and self-trust to leap through the gate, it is transformed into a mighty dragon, symbolizing its newfound strength, power, and wisdom.

The story of the Dragon's Gate represents the importance of perseverance and determination in overcoming challenges and achieving success. The carp's transformation into a dragon symbolizes personal growth, transformation, and the realization of one's full potential.
